Liffey Sweeper - Irish Nautical Trust

The Liffey Sweeper

The Liffey Sweeper is the first vessel of its kind in Dublin to help tackle aquatic debris that accumulates in the River Liffey. In an effort to help prevent damaging wastes effecting the Dublin Bay Biosphere and in turn help tackle the world-wide issue on the impacts of marine debris in our oceans.

The Old Liffey Ferry - #11

The Old Liffey Ferry service runs between the Cill Airne and Sir John Rogerson’s Quay and The Point Depot (3Arena) pontoons.

First granted a charter in 1665 by King Charles II, (although there had been a ferry dating back at least to the 1400’s), it is now operated by The Irish Nautical Trust, keeping alive the maritime traditions of the area and providing valuable experience to our trainees.

Maritime Training

At the core of The Irish Nautical Trust is the passing on of knowledge, introduction of new maritime skills and certification toward further employment in our maritime sector.

Operating closely with our local social & business partners we encourage young people from the traditional areas of Dublin Port to embrace a future in the maritime sector.
